MIXED-USE MATULJI

Nasuprot njemu, niži kubus izveden u fasadnoj žbuci uspostavlja smiren kontrapunkt suvremenoj materijalizaciji glavnog volumena i pridonosi uravnoteženju kompozicije. Projekt istražuje odnos između rudimentarnih arhitektonskih oblika, suvremenih materijala i lokalnog prostornog identiteta.

The project of this small mixed-use building is based on formal super-contextualization through the reinterpretation of archetypal volumes characteristic of the surrounding settlement. The dominant volume with a simple pitched roof is further emphasized through the use of the same material on both the façade and the roof, allowing the form to be perceived as a unified spatial entity. In contrast, the lower cubic volume, finished in façade plaster, establishes a calm counterpoint to the contemporary materiality of the main volume and contributes to the balance of the overall composition. The project explores the relationship between rudimentary architectural forms, contemporary materials, and the local spatial identity.
